Ghana Night Basketball game With Raptors905 (Day 3 of Ghana Independence week))

IMG_6575On Friday March 11th 2016, as part of Ghana Independence Week anniversary, the  Ghanaian community partnered with the Toronto Raptors905 team to present a special ‘Ghana night” for the community during a match against Iowa.

The event took place at the Hershey center as the home team Raptors905 beat  visiting Iowa team. The youth wing of the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario (GCAO) led by the dynamic Gabriel Odartei, Mc Ebone and Vivian Ofori organized a group of Ghanaian children living in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to attend a Raptors 905 basketball game

IMG_6603The Ghana Consulate General John Bosco was in attendance and was introduced before the  game. The children and their parents as well as some GCAO executives who were at the game enjoyed a ‘heroic’ welcome as a sign to honour Ghana on her 59th birthday! The honour forms part of a week-long activities planned by the GCAO to mark the 59th Independence Anniversary of our motherland Ghana in Toronto-Canada.

Such a privilege rarely comes the way of Ghanaian children living in Canada.
