What We Do

GCAO is non-profit umbrella organization for all Ghanaian-Canadian individuals, religious, professionals, cultural associations, and community organizations residing within the Greater Toronto Area

HISTORY

  • GCAO started in the 1970s when groups of Ghanaians arrived in Canada to study at various institutions. As students and skilled labourers continued to migrate to Ontario, the group was established to support these individuals in their educational pursuits and career aspirations. GCAO has since supported the community despite facing several challenges.
  • GCAO has the commitment to preserve and sustain the welfare of all Ghanaian-Canadians within the multicultural Canadian landscape. We do this by working with community agencies and all levels of governments to shape social policies as well as developing programs aimed at improving the quality of life for all Ghanaian residents in Canada.
