There are many volunteer opportunities available at the GCAO throughout the year. These positions include helping at events, children's programs, heritage-related programs, communications and marketing coordination and much more.

Communication and Marketing Committee

GCAO’s Communication and Marketing Committee is designed to establish GCAO’s brand, promote GCAO’s services, and help gain new members and stakeholders of GCAO. The committee is responsible for developing all internal and external marketing communication infrastructure and messaging. This includes but is not limited to the association’s website, social media platforms, digital and print advertising, database communication, and public relations. The committee works closely with all of GCAO departments (teams) to ensure it has the information it needs to communicate for the success of GCAO.

Event Planning and Coordination

The Event Planning Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating every aspect of GCAO’s major events. The main duties include selecting venues, determining the cost, arranging event services and monitoring department event approval. The committee also supports the planning of other department’s events, working out event details, and coordinating the overall execution.

Volunteer Coordinator & Outreach

This individual will work closely with volunteers in a professional manner, to ensure that volunteers can work effectively within the organization

Writer/Reporter/Editor

Responsible for providing the organization with news reports, event press releases and articles to be published on our website and other platforms

Tutors

Tutors provide support to students of the Homework Club. Areas of expertise that is needed is in Math and English
