COVID-19 Vaccine Passport Updates

Last week, Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccine passport system was implemented. As a result, as of September 22, 2021, every Ontario residents are now required to show proof along with photo ID that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to access certain public settings and facilities that are in areas of high-risk indoor public setting where face covering cannot always be worn such as: 

  • Restaurants and bars (excluding outdoor patios, as well as delivery and takeout);
  • Nightclubs (including outdoor areas of the establishment);
  • Meeting and event spaces, such as banquet halls and conference/convention centres;
  • Facilities used for sports and fitness activities and personal fitness training, such as gyms, fitness and recreational facilities with the exception of youth recreational sport;
  • Sporting events;
  • Casinos, bingo halls and gaming establishments;
  • Concerts, music festivals, theatres and cinemas;
  • Strip clubs, bathhouses and sex clubs;
  • Racing venues (e.g., horse racing).

Proof can be shown either electronically as a PDF on a mobile device or as a hardcopy printout. Vaccinated individuals looking to access and download their vaccine receipt from OntarioHealth.ca can click here. If you have not yet been vaccinated and have questions about the vaccine, please speak with your healthcare provider to help you make the best decision for yourself and your loved ones. You can also book your vaccine at any pharmacy or vaccine clinic.  If you have been vaccinated by your receipt has incorrect information or you could not download your receipt, please contact public health hotline at 416-338-7600.
